Yoga in Cambridge offers Baby Yoga and Postnatal Yoga classes. These classes provide a space for new mums and babies to meet, exercise safely, have fun and relax together. Being with other new mums is very supportive and a great time to make new friends. Baby yoga is a great way to build confidence in your ability as a new mum and helps your baby to develop happily and healthily. Yoga in Cambridge believes that a happy mum means a happy baby and that a happy baby means a happy mum. These classes are suitable for any woman from 6 weeks after her baby's birth - no previous yoga experience is necessary. Classes may be attended until baby is mobile (crawling/walking), when the Yoga Bears class is more appropriate.

"I just wanted to send you a note to thank you for your classes. And for supporting a space where new mum's can meet and just be. My daughter is 9 months now and so full of energy and movement and I think some of that is thanks to you."

Baby Yoga and Postnatal Yoga classes:
At: Ross Street Community Centre, Ross Street, Cambridge, CB1 3UZ MAP

In baby yoga, babies love the movements, massage, rhymes and songs, as well as being with other babies. Baby yoga helps to strengthen babies' bodies, developing their sense of co-ordination and spacial awareness. It can also help with digestion and bring relief to colicky babies and help to settle babies and improve sleep patterns. These classes encourage bonding and communication between mums and babies in a way that is fun and nurturing.

These classes not only benefit baby's health; postnatal yoga and relaxation are just as important for new mums.  Our bodies experience huge changes during pregnancy and need time to recover. The exercises focus on increasing the strength and tone of the muscles affected most during pregnancy, such as the pelvic floor, abdominal muscles and back. Time is spent on exercises to realign and strengthen the spine and upper body, and each session includes a chance for you to relax with your baby.  At the end of each class, you will feel more energised, toned and relaxed.

There is a changing area available and space to feed your baby or for your baby to sleep. A happy baby means a happy mum - so please feel welcome during the classes to do whatever you need to for your baby's comfort. You may like to bring a blanket for your baby, as well as anything else you think your baby might need. You may like to bring a yoga mat, if you have one, though I have spare mats.

Places are limited so pre-booking is essential. Places are guaranteed on receipt of payment so early booking is advisable.
